EDU215 Learning Styles Class Activity

 Directions: Read the complete assignment before beginning. 

 

1.      Create a new Microsoft Word document. Save the document in your “H Drive” as: lastname.learning. Include in the document the following:

  • your name and your home and campus addresses
  • a short biographical paragraph that includes:
    • your college major and your ideas/plans post-graduation
    • a brief description of your computer/technology experience
    • a statement of what you would like to accomplish in this class
    • 250 words max

2.      Insert a picture (of you) into the document (from  the z drive, or at http://scots.covenant.edu – click on “Great Scots Picture Directory”).

  • Right click on the picture and select “Format Picture.”
  • Choose an appropriate size
  • Set the image layout as “square”
  • Select square text wrapping.
  • Compress the image for print size (by selecting the picture tab).
  • Click okay.
  • Position the picture to the right of your text (click and drag).

3.      Complete an online learning styles test

§         Go to: http://www.metamath.com/lsweb/dvclearn.htm

§         First read the page and then click on “Learning Styles Survey” in the next to last line on the page. Fill in your name, etc., select answers for each of the items, then click on the “Submit Your Answers” button.

§         Read the results and then also read about your preferred learning style(s).

§         In a new paragraph in the Microsoft Word document started earlier, write a brief summary of your results: Be sure to address the following

      §         According to the Learning Styles Survey, what are your preferred learning styles? What does this mean?

      §         To what extent do you believe these results accurately reflect your learning styles?

4.      Drag a copy of the file into the appropriate Classwork  folder in the class drive (Z).
