Reserve Collection

The Reserve Collection is a special, temporary collection of print, audio-visual, or electronic materials created by faculty requests. The location for physical items is behind the Circulation Counter. All Reserve materials are either required or supplementary readings (viewing, listening) for current classes and are designated for short-term use. All items in the Reserve Collection are listed in the Library’s online catalog, The Hub.

There are two circulation categories of Reserve Collection physical items:

Unrestricted Access

  • 2 hour check-out (no additional grace period)
  • May be checked-out overnight within 2 hours of Library closing (due back when the Library opens the next business day)
  • Item may be used anywhere

Restricted Access

  • 2 hour check-out (no additional grace period)
  • No overnight use
  • Item must remain within the Library

Not returning a Reserve Collection item on time will result in the immediate suspension of the user’s borrowing privileges. Lost or damaged Reserve items will result in the user owing replacement charges plus a $5.00/item processing fee.

Please ask the attendant at the Circulation Counter to retrieve any Reserve item needed. All materials must be checked-out, even if they will only be used a short time.

Faculty members may place an item on Reserve by filling out a printed Request Form located in the Library, or by completing this electronic form.
